On 20 April 2022, TNB Ventures and ICE71 co-hosted the Cyber Leaders Sharing Session: Future-Proofing Your Organisation. This was the first event in our three-part end-user engagement series for the Cybersecurity Industry Call for Innovation (CyberCall) 2022. Held at the Suntec City Guild House, 18 cyber leaders attended the event.
Fireside Chat
We kickstarted the event with a fireside chat, where we were joined by Prof Lam Kwok Yan, Associate Vice President (Strategy and Partnerships) and Professor in the NTU School of Computer Science and Engineering, and A/P Chang Ee-Chian, Associate Professor in the NUS School of Computing. They shared some information and opinions regarding the latest advancements in cybersecurity technology.
Roundtable Discussions
After the fireside chat, the cyber leaders participated in roundtable discussions moderated by Mr Ang Leong Boon, Head of IT at NUS and Mr Phoram Mehta, APAC CISO at PayPal. At their tables, participants opened up and shared some of their cybersecurity plans for their organisations. They also spoke about the pain points they face, including areas such as ineffective cyber training, flooding of false positives, as well as the lack of effective risk simulation tools in the market.
The group discussions were guided by the results of a pre-event poll that participants had completed. The questions were focused on the cyber leaders’ confidence in solving relevant issues within their organisations, as well as their opinions on new or upcoming cyber solutions.
CyberCall Sharing
After the roundtable discussion, the participants were introduced to CyberCall 2022 by Linda Nguyen Schindler, Programmes Head at ICE71, as a potential next step to solving the pain points they discussed earlier. She shared the objectives and timeline of the programme, as well as some past participants of previous CyberCall cycles.
